We elevate your design

Our technical sales team and project managers offer design support early in your project – a service unique to Memo. We know plastics, but we’re also experienced mechanical designers, which allows us to optimise your components.

Get us involved early

Light, smart and sustainable – but also strong and multifunctional. That’s how we want tech components to be. How well this is achieved is determined early in the design phase. Our technical sales team offers consultation at an early stage, discussing your drawings or design ideas. This ensures you get the best out of your plastic parts at the right price.

No ordinary plastic components

The demands on tech components are high. They must withstand everything from extreme dynamic forces to harsh, corrosive environments. Thanks to our unique combination of expertise – from design engineers to material and tooling specialists – we know how to manufacture parts that perform under the toughest conditions.

Designs optimised for plastics

Once you’ve made the smart choice to use plastics for your tech parts, the next challenge arises: how do you design most effectively with the material? Most designers traditionally start from a metal perspective, but the differences can be significant – and plastic designs often look very different from their metal counterparts.

The right design and material combination

We understand how dynamics, operating environments, and other factors can affect both your plastic component and the final product it’s part of. Our broad plastics expertise allows us to select the right material from the wide range available – and gives us the experience to optimise the design for your product’s specific application and material.

Sharing our knowledge

We are renowned in the industry for our insightful design support, as many of our customers lack in-depth specialist knowledge of plastics. We provide technical consulting and training for our customers’ designers and project managers. This helps you and your company build your plastics expertise and be better prepared for future projects involving plastic components.

Examples of questions our technical may ask you before starting a new project:

  • What properties must the component have to withstand the dynamic forces the final product will be exposed to?
  • What chemical environment will the component be exposed to?
  • Which material best meets the requirements?
  • Which design best meets the requirements?
  • How can we optimise the design based on the selected material?

Quality control

After injection moulding, we perform dimensional inspection of your components using tools such as a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
