Martina Brostedt Carlsson

Post-Processing Supervisor

New at Memo – and in the world of plastics

Martina Brostedt Carlsson has recently joined as post-processing supervisor. At the time of writing, she has just settled into her new role. Memo is also new to Martina – not only because of the transition from machine operator to supervisor, but also because of the move from the world of metals to plastics. Just a few months ago, she thought: “I never imagined industrial plastics was something you could work with.”

Valuable experience

Martina benefits greatly from her previous background, including work as a CNC operator. At Memo, the weekly plan provides an overall picture of what is to be produced, but sometimes the unexpected happens: “If a priority order comes in during the morning, we simply have to adapt. Having worked at a machine myself is a real advantage – I know what’s required of the team,” she says.

Teamwork is crucial

In tight-knit teams like at Memo, good collaboration is crucial. That, in turn, requires respect and understanding for each individual: “When giving instructions to your own colleagues about what to do during the day, you need to do it smoothly. But you also need to show that you’re ready to pitch in yourself. I often move around the machines, helping with picking and fetching finished plastic components,” she continues.

Enjoys the social side

So far, the new role is going well – even though it’s quite different from writing programs and running CNC machines at her previous job compared to now managing staff planning at Memo. “I enjoy the social side of going around, checking in with colleagues and being able to step in when they need support,” concludes Martina Brostedt Carlsson.
