Sebbe Purhonen

Injection Moulding Setter

Experience matters

Sebbe Purhonen has been working as an injection moulding setter since 2021. Experience is essential in this profession, not least to handle quick changeovers and a varied production. “As setters, we must frequently switch materials depending on which components are being produced, and we also change the moulds along with their auxiliary equipment,” says Sebbe.

Keeping a cool head

According to Sebbe, a calm personality is also really important in this role: “You need to be able to stay focused even if things don’t go as planned or when production pressure is high, so you don’t forget any critical steps.” Even when everything runs smoothly, full attention is still required: “You constantly need to keep track of product quality and material consumption,” Sebbe continues.

Good teamwork

Collaboration within the team is crucial for making the right decisions at the right time. “If something needs to be addressed with the injection moulding machine, you have to react quickly, discuss it with the team leader and make a fast, joint decision on the actions required,” concludes Sebbe Purhonen.
